On\u00a0the conference they presented their joint research with M\u00e1rton Rakovics and R\u00e9ka Tam\u00e1ssy, in which they analysed the future of higher education institutions.<\/p>\n<p>The research group explored the use of the term &#8216;future&#8217; in the \u2018About us\u2019 sections of the Times Higher Education 2019 top 100 Business &amp; Economics<br \/>\nhigher educ<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-516 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/future-higher-education.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/esa_logo2_1_1-300x161.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"252\" height=\"135\" srcset=\"https:\/\/future-higher-education.hu\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/esa_logo2_1_1-300x161.png 300w, https:\/\/future-higher-education.hu\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/esa_logo2_1_1.png 600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 252px) 100vw, 252px\" \/>ation institutions\u2019 websites. The analysis is based on the assumption that higher education institutions\u2019 organisational legitimacy-construction is tied to their discursive future construction. During the research word-level analysis of sentences containing the word \u2018future\u2019, their applied agency-frames and the used discursive strategies were investigated by the researchers.<\/p>\n<p>By grouping the practices and activities related to future the researchers found six agency-frames: preparing, shaping, adjusting, exploring, personal future and (social) responsibility. Analysing the co-occurrences of the agency frames two main discursive strategies emerged: those that are individual-centred and prepare the student for the future and teach him\/her to adapt to it, and those that construct the future at the community or global level and portray it as something that can be shaped.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Our researchers Zsuzsanna G\u00e9ring and G\u00e1bor Kir\u00e1ly participated in the European Sociological Association (ESA) 2021 online conference on 3 September.
