{"id":532,"date":"2021-11-11T10:00:15","date_gmt":"2021-11-11T09:00:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/future-higher-education.com\/?p=532"},"modified":"2021-11-11T10:00:15","modified_gmt":"2021-11-11T09:00:15","slug":"promoting-the-future-of-innovative-higher-education-through-masters-programmes-new-article","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/future-higher-education.hu\/en\/promoting-the-future-of-innovative-higher-education-through-masters-programmes-new-article\/","title":{"rendered":"Promoting the future of innovative higher education through master\u2019s programmes \u2013 new article"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Katalin Feh\u00e9r, Zsuzsanna G\u00e9ring and G\u00e1bor Kir\u00e1ly published their new article entitled <em>Promoting the future of innovative higher education through thousands of master\u2019s programmes STEM, interdisciplinary and business programmes in a changing labour market<\/em> in the journal of <em>Society &amp; Economy<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>The researchers carried out a global analysis on the description of master\u2019s programmes in order to find out how the most innovative higher education institutions teaching programmes represent their future-orientedness, and the rapidly changing socioeconomic and technological climate we live in. In the study they analysed the master\u2019s programmes\u2019 description of 30 of the Thomson Reuters 2018 ranking of the top 100 innovative universities, creating a database of the 2708 master\u2019s programmes available in these institutions. The analysis focused on the nature of the found matesr\u2019s programmes (STEM, non-STEM, interdisciplinary studies, business studies and interdisciplinary business studies) and compared it to the descriptive data of the chosen institutions.<\/p>\n<p>Feh\u00e9r, G\u00e9ring and Kir\u00e1ly found that while Western Europe offers the largest number of master\u2019s programmes, STEM studies are overrepresented at the top innovative universities, and interdisciplinary studies account for fifteen percent of the programmes.
