{"id":584,"date":"2022-12-19T09:25:25","date_gmt":"2022-12-19T08:25:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/future-higher-education.com\/?p=584"},"modified":"2022-12-19T09:30:14","modified_gmt":"2022-12-19T08:30:14","slug":"opportunities-and-challenges-in-higher-education-scenario-workshop","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/future-higher-education.hu\/en\/opportunities-and-challenges-in-higher-education-scenario-workshop\/","title":{"rendered":"Opportunities and challenges in higher education &#8211; scenario workshop"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In 2022, the Future of Higher Education Research Centre prepared a report entitled &#8220;<span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #800080;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.researchgate.net\/publication\/360642436_SCENARIOS_FOR_THE_FUTURE_OF_HIGHER_EDUCATION_2022\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Scenarios about the future of higher education in 2022<\/a><\/strong><\/span>&#8220;.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-583 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/future-higher-education.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/szerk_IMG_5402-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"242\" height=\"161\" srcset=\"https:\/\/future-higher-education.hu\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/szerk_IMG_5402-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/future-higher-education.hu\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/szerk_IMG_5402-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/future-higher-education.hu\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/szerk_IMG_5402-1024x683.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 242px) 100vw, 242px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The report outlines four possible futures for higher education along two dimensions, the &#8220;internal structure&#8221; of education and the flexibility level of\u00a0programs.<\/p>\n<p>These scenarios were discussed by 8 invited higher education professionals from three institutions (University of Szeged, Corvinus University of Budapest and Budapest Business School &#8211; University of Applied Sciences). In addition to\u00a0their feelings and impressions, the lecturers and researchers\u00a0 discussed the opportunities and challenges related to the 4 scenarios, which can help the institutions be better prepared for such possible situations.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The biggest challenges for the participants were the (re)definition of the instructor&#8217;s role, and place of research in these new directions. Furthermore, social aspects such as equal opportunities and the emergence of a sustainable approach were brought up during the discussion about the scenarios.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>This workshop was the first of the FHERC scenario-workshop series, in which we would like to discuss the elaborated future visions and the role and tasks of a responsible university with the various stakeholders of higher education.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In 2022, the Future of Higher Education Research Centre prepared a report entitled &#8220;Scenarios about the future of higher education in 2022&#8220;.
