Here, the international higher education research audience learned about the first results of a study analysing the mission statements of the top 100 European universities. Zsuzsanna G\u00e9ring, R\u00e9ka Tam\u00e1ssy, presented the first results of the research of a team (Zsuzsanna G\u00e9ring, R\u00e9ka Tam\u00e1ssy, Vanda Harmat, Eszter Kn\u00faln\u00e9 P\u00e1l). In addition, in another session, they presented the main results of their research on the media representation of model change in Hungarian higher education, which has recently been published in the Intersections journal (Q2) in English (available <span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #800080;\" href=\"https:\/\/intersections.tk.mta.hu\/index.php\/intersections\/article\/view\/1276\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a><\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n<p>Dr Zs\u00f3fia Fr\u00e1ny\u00f3 and Dr Bogl\u00e1rka Szij\u00e1rt\u00f3 presented the results of their qualitative research, &#8220;Success in higher education: student motivation and agency,&#8221; at the conference &#8220;Navigating the Changing Landscape: Embracing Innovation and Evidence in Higher Education,&#8221; held at Utrecth between 25 and 27 September.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-694 alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/future-higher-education.hu\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/Zsofiek-300x225.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"188\" height=\"141\" srcset=\"https:\/\/future-higher-education.hu\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/Zsofiek-300x225.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/future-higher-education.hu\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/Zsofiek-1024x768.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/future-higher-education.hu\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/Zsofiek-768x576.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/future-higher-education.hu\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/Zsofiek-1536x1152.jpeg 1536w, https:\/\/future-higher-education.hu\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/Zsofiek.jpeg 1824w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 188px) 100vw, 188px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The themes of the European Association for Research on Learning and Instruction (EARLI) conference on higher education included innovative pedagogies, professional development for teachers, the use of artificial intelligence and, to the delight of colleagues, research on teaching accounting to support critical thinking.<\/p>\n<p>Following this, the Higher Education Pedagogy Conference 2024 was held at the ELTE Faculty of Pedagogy and Psychology on 11 October 2024, where FHERC members led an interactive workshop entitled &#8220;Action Learning and the Development of Capacity for Action in Higher Education&#8221; in one of the afternoon sessions.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright  wp-image-693\" src=\"http:\/\/future-higher-education.hu\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/Ildiek3-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"205\" height=\"154\" srcset=\"https:\/\/future-higher-education.hu\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/Ildiek3-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/future-higher-education.hu\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/Ildiek3-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/future-higher-education.hu\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/Ildiek3-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/future-higher-education.hu\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/Ildiek3-1536x1152.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/future-higher-education.hu\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/Ildiek3-2048x1536.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 205px) 100vw, 205px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The event was attended by around 30 participants, who were able to learn about the Action Learning (AT) method and get an insight into its practical implementation. The workshop discussed the experiences of the Action Learning project of Budapest Business University, which won a special prize as Innovative Project at the University IDOL Award. The facilitators of the workshop were Judit Kov\u00e1cs, Vikt\u00f3ria Pajor and Ildik\u00f3 D\u00e9n-Nagy, the content and methodological preparation was supported by Zsuzsanna G\u00e9ring and Vikt\u00f3ria Vad\u00e1sz.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>FHERC members presented their research at several conferences during the summer and autumn.
